Five sims and only one bathroom is a pain, so it's time to fix that.
Before...
...and after pictures of the house's addition of an upstairs area.
The kitchen was also expanded, and given windows.
Taymur warned Flora she might need to skill up charisma to smooth-talk her way into some of the tombs Resolute Fist will want her to investigate, so she gets to work on that.
Knowing Alexandria's love of plants, Iris paints something special for her.
"Have you noticed our mother is adding more and more plants to the house?"
Flora doesn't answer, but thinks about the bizarre confession Alexandria made to her in Shang Simla, about being a plant person or something. The same conversation where she admitted Darshan was a vampire. Flora has kept both secrets... but with her encouragement, Alex has opened up a bit more to Iris and Lupin about their father, sharing a few details about him so, while they can never really know him, they at least have more than just a mysterious picture on the wall.
Flora has felt better sharing her memories with them, too. Before she held off, scared they'd be upset she got to meet him and they didn't, afraid she'd invite questions she couldn't answer. Being able to talk about it has lifted a weight off her shoulders she didn't know she was carrying.
Lupin makes friends with Kimi Choi. The poor girl is made fun of in school for the mole on her face, but one friend in her corner is all it took to make her feel a lot less ostracized.
Many neurotic sims acquire the neat trait, and Iris is no exception. Nobody in the house cares about making their beds except for her.
A family meal. I rolled gourmet, and this is the night everybody gets their favorite thing.
Iris's favorite is veggie burgers. Echo loves her autumn salad.
Flora is fond of hot dogs.
Alexandria and Lupin are all about pie. Key lime and pumpkin, respectively.
Iris actually prefers doing the dishes, because at least then she knows they're clean.
Sultan Sam reaches for Alex's booty.
Alexandria's daughters are having a much happier, socially fulfilled adolescence than she got to have. Alex feels pretty good about that.
Flora's workout routine is kind of ruining the romantic watch-the-sunset vibe Echo has with Flint here.
Flora indulges her little brother's wish for a pillow fight.
The next morning, she ages up.
"Ohmigaaaw, I'm so jealous! You get to leave high school!" Iris's forced attempt to be cheerful is a bit over-the-top.
Young Adult Flora is ready to take on the world. Or at least to take on a prophecy.
She prepares for her upcoming trip back to Shang Simla by jarring fruits to take with her. Living off of only dried food cubes is not too appealing.
She works on her handiness skill a bit more too. Those traps won't stand a chance.
Alex helps out in her own way, crafting potions that will keep her daughter's energy and fun bars full during the trials ahead.
Flora returns to Shang Simla, eager to make a fortune and hoping she isn't in way over her head.
"It is good to see you, Flora," Ho Sung Kim greets her amicably. "Shen Su has been urging us to search for another Chosen One, but most of us firmly believe it is you who will fulfill the prophecy."
"I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about that, but I'm ready to help you. Especially since you're offering me money."
Ho Sung Kim smiles. "Patience, Flora Fleet. There are many trials ahead, and you must prepare. Go again to the Scholar's Garden. Meditate."
Flora sighs. "Meditate for how long?"
"You will know when to stop."
Flora is dubious, but she heads off to Scholar's Garden. It's a bit less inviting at this time of year, with its koi ponds nearly frozen over and no place to hide from the biting cold. Flora picks a spot and sits down to meditate, uncertain when—or if—she will receive a sign that she should stop...

The new addition to the house looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that you're having Flora prepare food for her trips. I didn't know the canning station had so many slots for decorations. The potions on the shelf are a nice touch. I need to try using the canning station too!
Canning station is awesome. I've ended up adding it to most of my legacy households.
DeleteI agree, the canning station is super cool. I'll have to find space for it in my legacy house sometime!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Flora's adventures!
Please tell me you have butterbot's canning station overhaul with that? It's so incredibly helpful to have single meals ready to go as rations! However, I will say it's better to use something like soup that they don't need a counter for because with the jams they have to have a counter in a tomb to spread the jam on toast. It doesn't really work LOL. Also, with the overhaul, ginseng creates a broth that gets rid of the Jeremy moodlet which is really awesome and fun (in case you didn't already know)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I see you there putting a tree on top of the new house extension like a cherry.
Don't play with potions a whole lot, but that's good to know, my new hack for tombs if I bother is to send a bunch of plumbots into them one of these days My son was playing with one and he was able to defeat every mummy. We were game testing and he would spawn a mummy and his plum bot Would defeat it every single time he killed like 12 mummies lol. I guess they just can't be cursed?
I do have that mod! :)
DeleteThat's hilarious about the plumbots.
